Hello,
My name is Breanna Golden and I am honored and humbled to be the Principal of Reed Elementary School! My journey into the field of education began in 2016 when I began my career as a first grade teacher. Throughout my time as a teacher, my passion for educating children, working with teachers, and helping to lead my grade level team developed into a desire to help lead, motivate, and collaborate on a larger scale as a school administrator. It is my mission to make the school experience for each student one that is meaningful, memorable, and productive. I am so excited to work in such a wonderful community and alongside an impressive team of educators. I look forward to connecting with parents and families to cultivate meaningful relationships that will help to guide our students to success.
Reed School is proud to provide a robust learning environment for students as they continue through their elementary years. The team at Reed is dedicated and passionate about providing the best learning experience for our students that is centered around rigorous academics and nourishing social emotional learning. We foster meaningful partnerships with our families and community to nurture strong relationships that are crucial to student success.
The academic day at Reed consists of Reading, English Language Arts, Math, and Science/Social Studies instruction provided by our homeroom teachers. We also provide Specials classes to all of our students that consist of Physical Education, Music, Library Media Center, and Art.
At Reed School, we recognize that all learners are unique in their strengths and areas for improvement. We provide interventions for students who are needing additional support and enrichment opportunities for students who could use further academic extension. Interventions and enrichment are provided daily during our “Powertime” block. Additional supports are provided each day for our diverse population of students including English Language Learners (ELL) and students with Special Needs.
Extracurricular opportunities are also available for all students, including 3rd grade choir, and a variety of offerings from Club 92. More information about Club 92 programming can be found at the Lockport Park District website. Before and after-school care provided by OASIS is also available on-site, for families that need it.
We are grateful to be part of a supportive community of parents and families who strive to be an active part of our school and district. A strong system of support is needed to nurture all of our learners and that can only be accomplished through the helping hands and dedication of our wonderful team and community members. We appreciate all of the outpouring of support!
We are looking forward to providing the best learning experience for your little “Bulldog”! Please don’t hesitate to reach out via email or by phone with any questions or comments.
There is so much learning and FUN happening at Reed! Let's get started!
